Ahead in the 13th minute
We began well and went in front in the 13th minute through Mustafa Eser. The centre-back's goal was an early lift in the first serious test of pre-season.
The lead did not last half an hour. Galatasaray turned the score around late in the first half: Ada Yüzgeç scored in the 35th minute and Kazımcan Karataş in the 42nd, sending our visitors in 2-1 up at the break.
The gap widened after the interval
Galatasaray extended their advantage in the second half. Can Armando Güner scored in the 60th minute and Berat Luş in the 62nd; a goal from Arda Tagay made it 5-1.
A first run-out for both sides
The fixture was Galatasaray's first friendly of the new pre-season. They started with Jankat Yılmaz, Ali Turap Bülbül, Kazımcan Karataş, Arda Ünyay, Eyüp Aydın, Gabriel Sara, İlkay Gündoğan, Renato Nhaga, Can Armando Güner, Berat Luş and Ada Yüzgeç; new signing Lesley Ugochukwu came on in the 63rd minute.
After the match Galatasaray continued their preparations with a training camp in Austria between 23 and 29 July.
From pre-season into the league
For us the match was a chance to test the squad against top-flight opposition before the Trendyol 1. Lig. The season began on 8 August at home to Mardin 1969 Spor.
