Job Title: Part-Time Weekend AM Contact Visit Support Personnel Coordinator
Location: On-site at Amachi Pittsburgh/Allegheny County Jail
Compensation: $24–$26/hour
Schedule:

• Weekday Prep: 3–4 hours on-site (flexible scheduling)
• Weekend Hours: Saturdays 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Sundays 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM (Sunday shifts begin late Q4 2025)

Position Summary:

Amachi Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Contact Visit Support Personnel Coordinator to facilitate weekend parent-child contact visits involving incarcerated parents, their children, and caregivers that are connected to our Family Strengthening programming. This role supports meaningful engagement through play-based interaction, resource coordination, and integration with weekly parenting classes. The coordinator will help create a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment that promotes positive family connection and development with aligned activities and coordinated visits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Visit Coordination & Support:
• Prepare and organize the visit space for parent-child interactions.
• Greet and orient families and incarcerated participants.
• Facilitate structured play and bonding activities.
• Ensure safety, emotional support, and adherence to visit protocols.
• Properly and accurately documenting the visits and data entry reporting.
• Resource & Program Integration:
• Collaborate with parenting class facilitators to align visit activities with weekly themes.
• Identify and coordinate access to community resources for families.
• Maintain accurate records of visit attendance, engagement, and feedback.
• Administrative & Prep Work:
• Conduct 3–4 hours of weekly prep on-site (e.g., planning activities, organizing resource materials, coordinating logistics).
• Communicate with staff, caregivers, and facility personnel as needed for increased probability for contact visits.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, families, or justice-involved populations preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a trauma-informed setting.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and restorative practices.
• Able to gain necessary clearances to enter the jail and for children.
• Must be available for early morning weekend shifts 7-12pm and weekday prep.
