Job Description

Pierce Companies, a family-owned business with a century-long legacy in Montana, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager/Corporate Accountant to join our successful team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial health and stability of our company by assisting the CFO in directing the company's accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial statements, and managing operational data. Responsibilities

• Assist the CFO in directing the company's accounting functions
• Process payroll and payroll taxes and all government required filings.
• Works closely with insurance/benefit providers to reconcile monthly billing
• Settle all cash receipts
• Assist the CFO in ensure timely and accurate financial statements
• Prepare and evaluate financial reports
• Manage operational data, maintaining its accuracy and integrity
• Maintain internal control systems and adopt proper policies for financial reporting to prevent inaccuracies
• Review financial data periodically to ensure its fairness and completeness
• Maintain system controls for data integrity
• Develop operational and data documentation, and troubleshooting procedures
• Conduct account reconciliations and analysis
• Assist the CFO with the company's monthly and yearly closing
• Maintain an understanding of operating software to ensure proper procedures are followed
• Assist in special projects as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing and corporate accounting or a related field
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear manner
