The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Anchorage International Airport, is looking for multiple Equipment Operator, Sub-Journey 1's to help us Keep Alaska Moving! What You Will Be Doing The Equipment Operator Sub-Journey 1 handles a variety of tasks essential to the smooth operation and upkeep of the airport and its facilities. They skillfully operate light trucks and small tractors, utilizing hand and power tools. Their responsibilities include transporting supplies and materials vital for maintenance, as well as efficiently loading and unloading trucks. In addition, they perform manual labor tasks such as clearing ditches and culverts, trimming brush, and contributing to bridge and structure repairs. They are also responsible for erecting and maintaining signs and markers, ensuring clear navigation throughout the airport grounds. They diligently pick up litter and debris on roads, ramps, and airfields, maintaining a clean and orderly environment. When adverse weather strikes, they swiftly respond by shoveling snow from sidewalks, runway edge lights, and aircraft operating areas, ensuring safe passage for both pedestrians and aircraft. Additionally, they take on groundskeeping duties as needed, maintaining the visual appeal of the surroundings. In times of emergency, they stand ready to assist the emergency crew, lending their support and expertise to mitigate any potential disasters effectively.
